You are! Parents are always the best “toy” for their children. Being an engaged play partner allows you to guide and share in their development. Babies’ brains are developing and growing at such a rapid rate — it is our duty to help stimulate them.
From birth, “people play” is recommended, and it helps foster a strong bond between you and your child. In fact, research from Princeton University shows that babies’ and play partners’ brains actually sync up jointly during play. That connection you feel with your baby when you lock eyes? Yep! That’s your brains communicating to each other! Wow!
In addition to bonding and people play, it’s also a good idea to ensure your own well-being. Staying healthy both physically and emotionally can help you be present and engaged in your child’s development.
